Taking time to slow down our stitches in turn slows down our mind and our body. If we allow it, each stitch deliberately placed side by side to create an outward extension of our inner creative soul, can truly become not only healing but also sacred in a world so often filled with external noise, fears and sadness.

In the first half of this class Tif will teach a variety of embroidery stitches, worked upon a knitted fabric sampler using yarn, after which we will take our newly found knowledge and create a ‘sacred heart’ woolly tattoo patch using a medley of beautiful, colorful yarns provided by Tif. This slow stitched patch can then be framed or attached to a bag or sweater upon your return home.

There will also be a short Qigong practice for those who wish to join in. Choosing to stretch out the muscles when crafting and coming back to the breath can become part of our daily ‘making’ practice. Bringing you back into the present moment, revitalizing you, ready to return to your slow stitching once more.

I love her sock pattern here and the message from her launch last July about "just keep putting one foot in front of the other." Indeed. #squam2021
