In this workshop, Jenny will lead us on an enchanted exploration. We will use a range of materials including pencil, pen, ink, and watercolor, among others. This is a unique process that functions as part of Jenny’s daily practice in her own artwork. She is delighted to be able to share it with us in the magical meadows of Norway.

Together we will venture out for some plein-air drawings which both strengthen our relationship with the natural world and will provide a starting point for our work. We will identify elements from these early sketches and studies which will then be developed into more focused work.

The heart of the class is to first, connect with our emotional response to the visual cue in front of us and then, second, translate that into a deeper—perhaps surprising—visual response.

By the end of the workshop, we will have a new approach to use in our art practice that amplifies the felt experience of the natural world around us.

Students need to bring with them:

• SKETCHBOOK – this is the one Jenny recommends but you are welcome to make your own choice
• WATER BRUSH (suggested link HERE)
• TOM BOW DUAL ART MARKER (choose colors that appeal to you HERE)
• WATERCOLOR kit or set is encouraged, but not required
• PENCILS (your preference)
• PENS (your preference)

KIT FEE covers additional materials supplied by Jenny which will include high quality substrate for finished piece, posca pen, detailing inks, white pen, etc
