FALL2023 Outside the Lines

Outside the Lines

Taught by:

Bibby Gignilliat

Offered:

Thursday, September 14th
CLOSED

Friday, September 15th
CLOSED

Experience level: All Levels

In this mixed media class, you will be taken on a playful journey of exploration and discovery. As Bibby is a self-taught artist who reclaimed the power to make art later in life, she is the perfect guide to help you move past any and all blocks as we open up to the unique symbols, messages and possibilities of your inner world.

Working with a range of collage and layer materials, you will create rich textures, adding paint, collage, image transfers and more. If you have zero experience with any of the above, no worries. Bibby will have you joyfully engaged in play and experimentation. If you are well-versed in the magic of mixed-media, you will be delighted as Bibby helps you expand beyond your known edges and introduces you to some of her favorite techniques.

Bibby says,

“each day as I step into my studio, I am entering a playground – a workout for taking risks, letting go of attachments, and experimenting with new ideas. The materials are guiding me. A letter to the tooth fairy, a One Way road sign, or a billboard scrap foraged in San Francisco all make their way into the work and are a reflection of my interior life.  My spirit laughs out loud at the freedom of breaking the rules and drawing outside of the lines. I’m not sure who is in charge – my art or me. The process is alchemical, magical, and joyful. The maverick/rebel is encouraged while the perfectionist is given a time-out. The result is a pure reflection of my heart.”

Get ready for a day of creative adventure!
