FALL2021 Boss Brioche

November 23, 2020

Boss Brioche

Taught by:

Andrea Mowry

Offered:

Friday, September 17th
CLOSED

Experience level: Advanced

This class is ideal for knitters who are comfortable with basic brioche, but are ready to take it to the next level and explore shaping! Brioche produces such a wonderful fabric and in this workshops we will be expanding your expertise in the best of ways.

We will begin playing around with what makes brioche so special – increasing and decreasing! And we will be learning from Andrea who has so much knowledge and experience to share as she has definitely put her ten thousand hours in on this technique as is demonstrated by so many of her beautiful designs which use this fabulous, squishy knit.

You will leave powered up and confident in brioche like never before.

And, Andrea will have loads of her samples for you to examine up close so that you can be inspired in all the ways this technique can be used in knitting designs.

Please note, this is an advanced brioche offering. Students must be comfortable with the brioche knit and brioche purl stitches. We will do a quick overview, but this is not a beginner class.

Please bring with you:

  • 2 colors of worsted weight yarn
  • size US 7 or 8 – 24” to 32” circular needle
  • locking stitch marker
  • pen or pencil
  • highlighter tape is handy!

It was such a disappointment to cancel last year ( It was such a disappointment to cancel last year (amid all the rest of 2020) so it is no small delight that we WILL be welcoming @maralicoleknits to the lake in June where she will be sharing an original shawl pattern and teaching brioche! I love her sock pattern here and the message from her launch last July about "just keep putting one foot in front of the other." Indeed. #squam2021
