Experience level: Basic hand sewing

Join ann wood for a day of improvisational stitching. Our stitched panels will be assembled into small slot tab bound books.

What will your stitch book be?

Look for inspiration in the materials we’re working with (mountains of scrap fabric) our surroundings – the squam environment and experience and our imaginations. This is a playful and process driven day. The little book is a place to experiment and generate ideas, one thing leads to another if you let it. Ann will share tools to get you moving creatively, generate ideas and access deeper parts of your imagination. What do you see? What do you hear and feel? How can you translate your experience into stitch.

In addition to fabric: shape templates, rubber stamps, buttons, lace and other vintage notions will be available to work with.

Basic hand sewing ability is all that’s required.

Kit fee: 25 USD

Materials:

Your kit includes everything you need and will include:

pre cut page panels, binding instructions, scrap fabric, charm packs from ann’s antique textile collection, sewing and embroidery thread, buttons and notions, rubber stamps, dye pens, shape and image templates

Optional:  If there is special fabric you’d like to work with you’re welcome to bring it as well as favorite sewing tools.
