How lucky are we to have the designer of the irresistible and incredibly popular Pressed Flower Pattern here with us to get this pullover rolling.

It’s not that the pattern is so terribly complicated, it’s simply that the pullover has a sequence of steps at the very beginning that can feel a bit daunting. And so, to have Amy here to guide us through those beginning steps so we that we can sail out of class with the sweater on our needles, ready to be carried over the finish line.

To be clear, this class is a guided start to the Pressed Flowers Pullover.

The pullover is knit top-down in the round with an allover mosaic motif. It is a simple boxy, relaxed-fit raglan sweater, but it begins with some advanced techniques. In this class we will cast-on together, work through the neck-band and the set-up of the raglan shaping with the short rows. Students leave class set up for success with their sweaters a work in progress.

Things we will cover in class:

• Choosing a size and considering how much ‘ease’
• Long tail tubular cast on. (there is a trick for creating a cast on edge that is both stretchy and stable)
• Short row shaping with mosaic knitting
• Increasing in the Pressed Flowers mosaic motif (raglan shaping)

And, if time allows other topics could include decreasing in pattern and pattern modification.

This class is for Intermediate + Advanced knitters.

Prerequisites are:
Some experience with knitting garments
Knitting/purling
working back and forth in rows and in the round
increasing and decreasing stitches
familiarity with knitting terms and abbreviations, reading charts.
