Modern Macrame

Taught by:

Emily Katz

Offered:

Thursday September 14th - CLOSED
Friday September 15th - CLOSED

Experience level: All Levels

In this class you will learn multiple creative knotting techniques to make your very own macrame wall hanging, the perfect art piece for any creative space. Of course, once you learn these techniques, you can go on to create all sorts of objects for your home.

Perhaps part of the reason macrame — the craft of knot tying –has become so desirable again is that it can create such beautiful, personal pieces that can be completely customized to our own style. Also, as she shared in an article with The Guardian, Emily points to the appeal of learning something simple that allows for whimsy — and “the repetition of taking the ropes and tying the knots is meditative.”

What’s not to love?

Kit fee: $30 USD / $50 USD

Emily will also give the option of learning a dense knotting technique perfect for rug making. If you choose to make a rug, there will be a surplus $20 kit fee for the extra materials needed.
