Episode 77 :: Sierra Barter

May 31, 2017

Although SIERRA BARTER and I are neighbors here on the east side of Providence, we have yet to meet in person. And yet, also like me, she has dogs! How is it even possible we have not crossed paths? I’m guessing it’s because she is one of the busiest people around town. Her powerful organization The Lady Project has over 1,000 members across the country though she founded it here in the Ocean State of Rhode Island.

So, instead of waiting to meet her by chance encounter — I took matters in my own hands– or my microphone, anyway– and caught up with her for a chat.

I wanted to hear more about what brought this Wisconsin native to the East Coast. Turns out, she is not just a worker bee. She works hard AND plays hard!

Plus she is a mover and shaker who is pretty much on a first-name basis with all the power players in lil Rhody.

Although she loves Providence as much as I do, it sounds like she is moving to Warren soon which doesn’t surprise me at all as Sierra is definitely always seeking to find what is new and vibrant and nurture community along the way and Warren is definitely the happening town.

If you are interested in learning more about The Lady Project and starting a chapter in your hometown– please reach out to Sierra. Meantime, I do hope you enjoy listening to her story as much as I did!

xo, Elizabeth

I love her sock pattern here and the message from her launch last July about "just keep putting one foot in front of the other." Indeed. #squam2021
