Does anything say WARM WARM WARM SQUISH! more than crochet? Sure, knitting creates a lovely fabric but a crochet blanket is a lovefest of texture and touch.

If you have been teetering on the edge of whether you want to dive in and learn another craft because you just don’t have the room in your life to fall in love with another way to stitch, let’s be clear: you WANT to crochet. Or, as lifelong crafter Jack Nicholson would intone You NEED to crochet because just look at this blanket!

In this class you will create the perfect throw blanket using crochet stitches that are beginner friendly, with the option to add on more intermediate techniques if you are already a little bit crochet savvy. It might seem from first glance that this blanket took months to make, but Jewell is gonna give you the insider know-how and confidence to make this beauty in a weekend. A weekend!

Over the course of the day, not only will you learn how to make this yummy blanket that Jewell has designed, but you will deepen your appreciation for the beauty specific to a marriage of bulky yarn and crochet hook.

Part of the fun is the luscious Purl Soho bulky weight yarn gives you the chance to ‘see’ your stitches as you cast on. You will explore the boundaries of where technique meets texture as well as the option and versatility of front loop stitching between rows. The blanket is finished with an easy bind off that gives it the perfect high quality ‘triple warmth’ look. And of course, the colorwork provides the polish and style that will have you sharing photos all winter long.
