Abundant Wild Life

With Every Ending a New Beginning

“To explore what it would mean to live fully, sensually alive and passionately on purpose, I have to drop my preconceived ideas of who and what I am.”
- Dawna Markova

“Joy is the holy fire that keeps our purpose warm and our intelligence aglow.”
- Helen Keller

Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence.”
- Henry David Thoreau

So today being the last day of the course, I wish to close simply and with a gentle reminder. But first, a wish I have for each of you. I wish you all the best with your vision, your internal fire, your joy, your passion and living your life’s work. I am here in total support for the next week, so continue to share what you have created, along with all the practices we have explored. The more we deepen our practices the richer they benefit our lives. The reminder is to continue to shine out – the world needs your brightness. You are an exquisite creation of the Divine – so honor that source and yourself by sharing all your gifts. And do stay in touch. You can find me here on Facebook (art page) and here (personal page) as well as on my new blog, which is a really great way, (Squam and I will be sharing more examples of your work, with your permission of course).

With love, grace, and all good things,

Xo alena

I have totally enjoyed this. It has been difficult to loosen up my art and realize that there doesn't have to be exact detail and perfection in a drawing. I tend to want to over draw to make things a "correct" representation with the "right" scale. There is a Harry Chapin song about a little boy going to school and the teacher tells him that "red flowers are red and green leaves are green" and basically there is no other way to see the world. So much of the time this is how we are taught to see the world with no variation.

On a different subject, has anyone else had problems with varnish interacting with the ink even when the ink should and appears to be dry?

Thank you Alena! Although I have not shared any of my work, I have enjoyed creating and making time to play everyday. My teenage daughter has really taken to the india inks and we have been creating together which has really been fun. I have explored different herbs and oils which have really intrigued me. I now practice yoga and drink herbal tea instead of coffee every day now!! Incorporating all the elements from your course into my daily life has been transformative for me. I hope to see you at a future Squam next year!! Many thanks....

I would really like to say a big thanks to you Alena. I am so pleased to have answered the 'calling' to join this online course - I gained so much more from it than I expected to - that's all thanks to you and your openhearted approach - merci beaucoup :) xx
PS. I ordered your book from Amazon, i'm very much looking forward to getting it and I shall be sure to write a review when it gets here.

Alena, thank you for this beautiful class. It has caused me to make many positive changes in my life. I drink tea instead of coffee, I do breathing excercises and yoga each day. I feel happier and enjoy being playful. I also have been using the Bach flower essences and rose oil. My art is happening again. I was stuck for a long time. I am taking some chances and feel more willing to try new things.
