Woody and Marjorie

Tomorrow night at the Lincoln Center for the Perfoming Arts in NYC, a number of Squammies will be gathering to see Jonatha Brooke in concert for the celebration of what would have been Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday.

I have to say I didn't know much about Woody until Jonatha released the album The Works. Jonatha was given rare and generous access to his archives by his family and the result is an album that holds an entire world of previously unpublished lyrics. Jonatha is the first woman ever who has composed, produced, arranged, and performed an entire Woody Guthire album.

The result is a raw, sexy, beautiful, collection of incredible songs.

In the video below, you will see Jonatha playing a beautiful song from a poem Woody wrote to his wife Marjorie.

THIS SONG HAS NOT YET BEEN RELEASED and is a special treat just for you!
