Teacher Feature: Marie Manuchehri

How much do I love that today only happens once every four years and on this twenty-ninth of February, we have something wonderful to share with you that is also out of the ordinary?  Love, so much!

Tomorrow, a new book by Marie Manuchehri comes into the world: Intuitive Self-Healing (also available on Amazon)

As Christiane Northrup writes, “This book teaches the medicine of the future.  Happily, you can use it now.”  In fact, if you want to listen to a conversation between Christiane and Marie click here.

That interview is one of many that Marie hosts on her weekly radio show that streams out of lovely downtown Seattle, Washington.  On her show, Marie interviews people who are deeply engaged in making the world a more joyful place for themselves and for others.  She also regularly runs a feature called “boot camp for the soul” where she opens up the phone lines and answers questions from people calling in from all over the world.

Naturally, we are thrilled that Marie is joining us on Squam Lake in September to offer a most beautiful workshop: Intuition & Creativity.

Marie knows first-hand about the power of following intuition even when it seems to be pointing in an unexpected direction. As she shares with Tami Simon, founder and publisher of Sounds True, Marie discovered her own abilities while working as an oncology nurse in one of Seattle’s leading hospitals. Although her unique healing methods were outside the norm of traditional medicine, Marie was fortunate that the doctors and staff were extremely receptive as the patients’ improved health was definitive.  “I started to trust my experiences really quickly because the outside world started to validate my experiences even if they didn’t quite understand," says Marie.  "And I feel like my role – it wasn’t necessary to convince other people of my experiences.  They’re real for me and if they provide helpful, healthy experiences for others than I am eternally grateful.”  (You can listen to the full interview here.)

Now for a few questions of our own!

Where were you born?

 Olympia, Washington

Describe yourself in 5 words...

Centered, enthusiastic, intuitive, ambitious, and kind.

What sounds calm you?

Rain, the rustle of nature, and my children’s laughter.

What are your some of your favorite spices/herbs?

Cinnamon, holly basil, and Italian parsley. Truly I love all herbs as their healing properties are out of this world.

What is your most ideal vacation?

A beautiful place with moderate temperatures where sight-seeing is a must. I was in Italy last spring and still think of that country's smells, language, art, landscape, and shopping -- every day!

What colors are carried throughout your home?

Various shades of earthy colors with splashes of blue and vibrant art work.

What is something you would like to learn to do?

Everything! Lately I’ve been thinking of taking classes to formally learn the properties of flower essences.

Country mouse or City Mouse?

I prefer to live in the suburbs (quiet) but close to the city.

What song reminds you of you of your childhood?

I don't have one particular song that reminds me of my childhood, but R&B music does. A neighbor who used to babysit my siblings and I was a Go-Go dancer and taught us how to rock out with soul.

Do you have a mantra?  if yes, can you share it with us?

Yes, I don’t use it often, because it made my schedule too busy :-)

~May those who I can easily help find me~

Thank you so much, Marie.  Congratulations on your book launch and see you in September!

bisous, e
