teacher feature : kelly barton

How perfectly fitting that on the day we close registration for our 5th anniversary gathering in September, we are featuring Kelly Barton who was one of the pioneering spirits who came to that first retreat held on Squam Lake back in 2008.
I am not kidding when I say pioneer-- back then, there were no photos of what to expect, no testimonials of how the experience can go-- hell, there was just some old girl in New Hampshire inviting people up for a party in the woods. Would you have gone?
(I promise you, I would not. . . sounds spooky, kind of weird and wait, I won't know anyone they could all be crazy people and . . won't there be bugs?)
One of Kelly's stories about Squam that I share with lots of people when they say something like "but how do people come all by themselves when they don't know anyone? how does that work? they just show up?"
Um, yep.
I can tell you that I don't pretend to understand how it works-- but there is evidence that is does.
Case in point: Kelly Barton. She came from Indiana-- met two women that she totally hooked up with in that deep, spirit connection of weren't-we-sisters-in-a-past-life-way-- only thing is one was from Tennesse (hi Tracey!) and one was from Ohio (Hi Sarah and congrats on your new baby boy-o!!) and yet, that did not stop them from keeping in touch when the weekend was over. In fact, they actually made a plan to get together throughout the years following . . and, did. That just blows me away. Love that.
Anyway-- we are all thrilled, me most especially, that Kelly will be leading a fabulous class in September called "C'mon Let's Play." Nothing could be more perfect as Kelly is all about the spirit of play and fun and exploration. C'mon, let's meet Kelly . . .

I *heart* Kelly Barton !!!
I have memories of my first Squam experience at Nags Head featuring Kelly and margaritas...
Oh that very first year at squam.....all of us gathering....not knowing what was going to unfold. And what did unfold was pure magic! Magic that continues to swirl day after day after day.
Kelly Barton is a rockstar! A total genuine heart. Who loves deeply, laughs from the core, and creates stunning paintings. I am looking forward to being in Kelly's class and I treasure deeply those memories that I have of Kelly from that very first year at squam.
A Few weeks...oh goodness me, I cannot wait!!
