Taproot Gathering
Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them,
whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth.
They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach,
undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.
— Hermann Hesse
Come walk with us through the trees, down paths thickly (and most fragrantly) carpeted with soft pine needles and let's sit by the shore of this beautiful lake. In partnership with Taproot magazine, this gathering at Squam is all about stepping into the moment and having the time and space to connect with our best selves. In addition to the exceptional group of teachers who have put together a fantastic offering of classes that will both challenge and delight you, we also have three marvelous evening events to feed your mind and spirit: a talk with Ben Hewitt, a rollicking Lodge Night and the chance to swing out your best sashay when the musicians cut loose for our contra dance.
There will be lots of time for yoga, early morning swims*, hiking, kayaking or simply sitting on the dock to watch the dragonflies dance above the water. There may be a bonfire (or two) and in the center of it all will be the most beautiful food thanks to the wild love bunch that is the BREAD & BUTTER CATERING COMPANY, the newest venture from the founders of ONE FIFTY ATE and Pocket Brunch who will be traveling out from Portland, ME to saturate our senses with a feast of fresh, organic, locally sourced food made with heart and soul.
And don't forget, the very best part of all is that you are going to be in classes and sharing meals with people from all over the world who share the desire to bring more mindfulness to daily life and to have a hell of a good time doing it.

*swims can happen 24/7, obvs . . and to be sure, it wouldn't be a September Squam without a few intrepid souls indulging in a midnight swim, ahem.
