We will be investigating fresh possibilities by introducing the notion of a daily sketch book an "unprecious, loose, informal, personal, uncensored," part of the process of making art.

Mark making, paint, glue, found objects, layering, drawing, shapes, tearing, sewing, stacking, fabric, and personal memorabilia. Our playful process will culminate in collaging a very personal box.

No experience necessary, ability to play essential!

Materials List:

I will provide a cigar box for each of you, miscellaneous tissue paper, colored tapes brushes, medium (used for collage and gluing), paints, papers & newspaper.

Students need to bring:
A sketch book. As big as you feel comfortable, it might be an old book you just want to draw over.
personal meaningful small items (receipts, tickets, bits of paper you love, (however scrappy), fabric, paint chips/charts, colored masking tapes, letters, pages from a book, scraps of fabric (cotton muslin, scrim not too thick), graph paper, music sheets, old diary pages, stamps, fabric swatches.
