meet me at the dock : weekend snapshot
When the coveted weekend approaches, I put the pressure on myself to get so many things done. I often end up spending too many of those "days off" working and running around. I've been trying to be more aware of how I am spending this time, asking myself if I am making the most of it or wasting it away on things that either don't matter or can wait until later.
I now have an unwritten rule that my weekends must include something that I really enjoy, and something that keeps me connected to my heart. It doesn't have to be something grand, it can be as simple as just making dinner with my husband, or building a fire and having some hot cocoa. Slowing down enough to be present, and making a moment matter is what I need more of.
Last week at the dock we loved to getting to know a bit more about you, and we would like that to continue by asking you to participate in a photo prompt called: The Weekend Snapshot.
Take a photo from a moment in your weekend of something you did that made you happy or something that you really enjoyed. Share it with the rest of us by posting it at the "Meet Me at the Dock" Flickr Group, or share the link to your blog so we may see it there! If you do not have access to a camera, you can write about your moment in the comments section below.
Make the most out of your weekend and treat yourself to something good!
*The photo above was a self protrait taken by Bella Cirovic, you can see more of her lovely work here.
*Remember that there are only a few more days left to order the beautiful Gratitude Journal from the Squam Store!

It is so important to unwind...I so often find myself pushing and working through the whole week. More and more I am learning to slow down on the weekend...recently even during the week when I was flat out tired. I will be sure to snap a picture this weekend to share. xoxox
Love this picture Bella!
Lovely writing. I find myself doing these things too. Your photo is great!
Thea, don't you find you are in such a better frame of mind when you take time to chill and relax? I know sometimes I have to force myself to do this, but I always am glad when I do.

Thanks for the reminder to stop and have a bit of fun Jen. I think I needed that. : )
this post's timing was wild. we had an out of town friend and her family come for a visit... and guess what? we had been cabin mates at the first June squam!
Besides hanging around with the family, I spent some time painting and writing in my studio, and went to a friend's hockey game today. Here's a little snapshot I took this weekend just for fun:

i try to find as many as possible opportunities to 1. be silly, 2. get out in the sunshine....if it's not sunny, even just gazing outside can tide me over
Here's a link to my Weekend Snapshot.....it was a good day.
