Danna Ray was born and raised in Cameron, South Carolina, where she spent her days exploring the woods and creeks surrounding her family’s log cabin.
In 2003, she received her BFA in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Today Danna works from her studio in the Black Mountains of North Carolina.
She is interested in human interaction with the natural world and the inherent connectedness of all things.
Her work is influenced by wilderness experiences as an avid trail runner and climber.
