great gosh amighty
A few years ago-- wait, longer-- like eight years ago (it doesn't matter in any way to this story I'm about to relate, but that's just how I roll) I went into the NPR radio station to watch a show my friend was producing about 70s music and one of the people interviewed was Studio 54 DJ Nicky Siano.
I came out of that with a cd "the gallery" that finds its way into rotation every now and again.
This past weekend, for some reason-- Yes We Can by the Pointer Sisters (see video above) would not get out of my head. I wasn't even playing the cd and the song was looping through my head as I fell asleep and then, there it was again when I woke up (has that ever happened to you?)
Fortunately, I love the song and there are worse mantras to have running through your day-- but now, I am sharing it with you so that maybe it will shake it's way on out of here and leave me to get some work done.
Cause I know I can can-- I know I can.

So funny to me you should mention going to sleep with a song in your head and finding it waiting there on waking the next day. This very thing happened in my head this past Friday to Saturday. The song? "Jolly Holiday" as sung by Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews as Bert, the chimney sweep, and Mary Poppins, respectively. Don't even try singing it. It's sticky like audible glue.
