dog days of summer

"People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of." ~ Paulo Coelho
So yesterday was the first day of summer, we are halfway into month six of Double Dog Dare and I am only posting now? How totally lame, I know-- but the beauty is, it's Double Dog Dare--- we do what we can, as we can and celebrate what is good enough.
Last night, I was strolling through Modern Hepburn, which is one of my favorite tumblrs (also where I found the quote above), and remarked on a list she was making about things she'd like to do where she wrote: help someone achieve a lifelong goal- what fun is it to accomplish your goals but never stop to help someone achieve theirs? There is such great satisfaction in helping people.
I love that.
Of course it brought my thoughts to Double Dog Dare and how this little game of ours has been such a great way of clarifying goals, naming them and getting help to achieve them.
For anyone coming across this for the first time*-- please know it is a completely open, community event. You do not need to have ever gone to Squam-- or ever plan on going to Squam-- this is for everyone who would love to get a bit of encouragement for gittin' done a little sumpin sumpin that has been sitting on the back burner for too long.

I know I am late to the party and you are probably all in the full swing of your Double Dog Dare for this month-- so please do share and update us all on how it's going. For me, the summer is gonna be pretty straightforward as my one goal is to get some Italian under my belt. Gonna get me one of them Rosetta Stone magic disks and put it in my car-- listen to it on repeat-- something's gotta stick, don't you think?
Whatever your focus is-- I wish you loads of luck and let us know how we can help you to keep your eye on the ball!

bisous, e
