Honestly, if this is a sign of where the next generation will be leading us-- I'm gonna sit back and have a rum drink by the pool because oh my, the future is bright.

Light :: radiance :: illumination -- these are the words I heard and felt over and over these past four days.

There's a whole new game afoot of drawing, painting and creating with needle and thread and we are stoked that Brooklyn-based Rebecca Ringquist is joining us again at squam next week to share her coolio techniques to make your needles fly.

Fun, open-hearted, and ready for any kind of creative adventure, Jill is bringing her teaching mojo to squam next week as well as having her gorgeous hand-dyed yarns for sale at the Squam Art Fair.

This month is really special for me and our islands as the current issue of National Geographic Magazine features our little sandbar - in a visual love letter written and photographed by my father-in-love David Alan Harvey.

What I do know is that it is important to stop, get quiet and reflect on what they were fighting for. Surely the battle was for time and space to bask in the beauty of this world and to be richly surrounded by friends and family.

Fiona continues to attempt to devise methods, for both herself and her students, to capture that illusive and transitory moment of inspiration.
