on to happier things--
There are two books my mother has given me and they both sit directly facing me from where I spend many an hour here at my desk. One is a fragile first-edition of Louisa May Alcott's Life, Letters and Journals the other is a 10" x 10" full-color book, Women Artists, An Illustrated History with the Countess Golovin filling out the cover. The countess and I have a very direct line of communication, eye to eye, and our daily communion feeds me greatly.

This morning I woke up hungry and thought of the plate I would fill with eggs and bacon and waffles, but then I opened my eyes and remembered: the buffet is no more.

Squam-a-lama-ding-dong!
To quote a friend, Squam is ON.
If you are coming, please travel safely-- if you live locally and want to catch the vibe-- DO come to the Squam Art Fair on Saturday night, September 19th.
